Although it shakes the desk a bit, this is a good unit. I've got a WiFi router, and plugged the printer into it. I was able to scan to my laptop across the room. I don't recommend the WiFi enabled unit as it's more expensive. Just plug the printer into your router and away you go.
The unit may come with a short CAT cable; I don't remember. Ask or find out before you purchase.
The software install takes forever. No word yet if I can install the scanner software on my wife's laptop without installing the whole thing.
Ink cartridges can be pricey. I haven't tried remanufactured cartridges - yet.

Let me start out by saying i got this at Best Buy for a lot less then i could get it at . I paid less then $100 for it. I didn't get the wireless for $70 more then the this and had the same features as that one did, just needed to hook it up to the router and away we went
it comes with software to help you do everything the printer/scanner/fax can do for windows XP and up and Mac.
The one thing that has won me over to this is that i just printed a photo quality picture at highest resolution and it came out FAST and beautiful. I did it on landscape mode as one of the reviewer before me said it doesn't work on landscape and i had no problem with it.
the drawback is it is a bit nowser then the HP inkjet i replaced. but i don't print while i am asleep so it really won't bother me.
