| As a teacher, I was faced with three 1st grade students with a variety of severe behavior problems (associated with autism, emotional disturbances, and ADHD) who WOULD NOT WORK- not under any circumstances- not for any sort of tangible reinforcement. Even after consulting our behavior specialists, I was at a loss as to how to get them to engage in anything academic. I discovered a dusty copy of this CD in our library one day, and was amazed at the reaction of these 3 boys. They would work with me on academic tasks as long as this was the carrot dangled. Not only would the prospect of a few minutes spent with this CD get them to work- but this was a reward that provided further academic reinforcement in itself- and the boys didn't even feel they were practicing reading. These non-readers actually began to read copies of the book. I read another reviewer who said she had difficulty getting it to run on a Mac. I encountered a little difficulty getting it to run on the various school computers (not the most up-to-date as you can imagine) that we tried, but usually was successful. I agree with that reviewer- I also wish this CD (and ALL the Living Books CDs) would be updated. I wonder if the makers realize how much children love these CDs. |

I bought this for my 4 year old daughter... One would think that a game for a 4 year old would last longer than 1 hour. She finished it and was ready to put it away forever in less than 1 hour and that included the time to install the software.
In short you are better off buying the book for your child because that is really all this is, it reads the story to them and then has 3 of the lamest games that have likely ever been created for a computer. Don't waste your time on this one, save yourself 20 dollars and buy them the book. |

| This computer book not only reads to your child but also has interactive games. It is both fun and educational for young children. I bought it about 2 yrs ago and my child still loves to play it. |

| Managed to get this to work on my husband's work computer. Our son absolutely LOVES. Big belly laughs. So disappointed that we cannot get to work on Macintosh running 10.5.5. Wish they would release an update, but the developer does not appear to be supporting any longer. Really too bad. |
