ART OF MURDER: FBI CONFIDENTIAL
| Quite very Good, but could use improvements. | 2010-05-11 | 3 / 5 |

Not a bad Adventure Game of the murder game genre for some really good fun. Characters are interesting and clever. There a few puzzles that are interesting, and require some thought. This is the first game I have played where the game mixing up the puzzle format, which is a breakthrough for 'game cheaters' so they must solve the puzzle. Keep up the good work 'adventure game designers'. Puzzles were basic and nature, and not frustrating brain-teasers.
More details for the agent to resolve could be made to make it more lifelike, and a overall better game. This is why I gave it a 3 star overall rating. This game may have been more interesting, if it did involve some action, like a adventure and action game.
Mysterious locations did make it interesting. There was some questionable inconsistencies, which we find in many pc adventure game titles, that should be resolved.
Very much dialog did make it a fun game to play.

| Boring, non-logical | 2009-11-29 | 2 / 5 |

| This could be a decent game if it weren't totally non-logical and one of those games where you're searching room after room looking for one freakin' pixel to click on so that you can FINALLY advance your game. I keep getting stuck and likely will not finish the game. |

| The graphics were pretty decent, I'll give it that. The story had quite a bit of potential. However. The puzzles were either incredibly simple, totally random, or had solutions that only made sense to the game designer. Many of the tasks were tedious and frustrating. The main character has about as much FBI training as I do (possibly less) and her voice actress was apparently hired only because she speaks English, certainly not because she can act. Main character Nikki could be frustratingly obstinate. I want her to pick up gloves and evidence bags before going to a crime scene and she informs me that she doesn't need them. Then when we get there she doesn't want to pick up a newspaper from the coffee table because it could be evidence and she doesn't want to contaminate it. Yet a minute later she has no problem getting her sticky little fingerprints all over an important piece of evidence she finds near where the victim was killed. The FBI office has items disappear from evidence but nobody seems to mind. Her partner plays hooky throughout the entire thing and I think someone may actually have done the translation by looking up individual words in a Polish-English dictionary. It sounded like idioms and sayings were translated word for word and that never really works. I gave it two stars for running decently and keeping me mildly amused while I made fun of it and read a book. |

This game had potential but never lived up to the hype. The game takes place mostly in NYC but the game designers don't understand the City. They can't even spell professor correctly. The FBI agent Nicole starts off badly enough willing to be a gopher for her colleague. Later on, she shows spunk and determination to finish the case.
What is troubling is the stereotypical name that they give the African-American security guard "Porter." He was also referred to as "a porter." Don't waste your money on this game.

| A good game, but too easy. | 2009-05-24 | 3 / 5 |
|
| This game was fun and it had a good plot to it. Its only downfall was that it was too easy. I'm used to playing games that take me months or several weeks to beat. This game was really short and straight to the point. There is only one location you can go at a time, it won't let you leave a location until you have done everything, the puzzles are super easy, and there is not too many locations to explore, and there is a hint button (as if you need it). I like a challenge; something that will make me have to think for a while, and this game didn't offer that. Plus, whoever does the voice for Nicole Bonnet is a lousy actress. She shows no emotion or excitement. However, the game does have some interesting parts that kept me going. Overall, it is a fun game, if your prepared to beat it in just a few days with a minimal effort. |
