Intuos3 gives you the power to quickly and professionally edit photos and create digital artwork by turning on the full power of Adobe Photoshop, Corel Painter, and over 100 other leading software applications. Intuos pen tablets use Wacom's Penabled technology to give you the natural feel and superior performance of Wacom's patented cordless and battery-free tablet technology. You'll find that using an Intuos pen, mouse, and tablet gives you more control, comfort, and productivity. Alternating between the comfortable Grip Pen and the ergonomic five-button Intuos3 mouse reduces repetitive motion. It's an easy and natural way to work. It's easy to use a pen tablet because every point on the tablet has a matching point on the screen. When you move your pen over the tablet the cursor moves in precisely the same way on the screen. Where you touch your pen tip to the tablet is where you click. The Intuos3 Grip Pen gives you the power of pressure-sensitive control. Pressure sensitivity lets you control your software tools by changing how hard you press the pen tip to the tablet surface. Using pressure sensitivity you can dynamically control things like brush size, opacity, and more.
| I used to use an old Graphire 4 x 5 for many years in middle and high school. Late in college, I decided to finally pony up the cash and buy the best - an Intuos!! And after using it ... I could never go back to a Graphire.
A Graphire is fine if you are only doing coloring work or photo retouching. If you do any digital painting AT ALL, you should get the Intuos. Why? With the Graphire, you can't really get precise lines easily - you can do so, but it is a slow process that will waste a LOT of your time. With the Graphire, you also get that annoying feeling of lines not being precise due to both the lack of sensitivity with the tablet and the small area you have to work with.
Enter the Intuos. First, the combined sensitivity with the tablet drivers create a remarkably fluid experience that feels like writing with a pencil far more than the Graphire ever could. You can actually INK with this thing and have it feel like a natural part of your workflow, unlike with the Graphire where you have to fight the technology to make it work. The Intuos just flows naturally with the way you work.
In all, grab an Intuos if you are at all serious about digital painting or texturing. But if you're serious, you already know this. ;) |
| I bought this when the Intuos4 came out, so the price was a steal. I'm in love with it, and don't know how I managed to work as a designer/photographer without one!!!
I recommend purchasing the sleeve protector as well to protect the surface if you plan to travel with it. This goes everywhere with me - to and from work. |

| I have used these tablets on a near daily basis for many years, and I have only ever been impressed. The Intuos 3 models are a bit more expensive then the entry level models, but if you plan on using this for more then just casual purposes, it is well worth it (seriously). The pen included with the Intuos 3 models is far more comfortable then the one with the entry models, and the hot-keys, when set up in a useful way, are amazingly convenient. Also, the 'feel' of the work surface is much nicer on these tablets over the lower end ones. The only flaw, if you can call it that, is that the cord housing where it meets the tablet eventually starts to break if you are not careful. Now I am talking after 3 years of daily use type scenario here, but it does happen. Also, the surface on both of my tablets is pretty worn, but the work area can be peeled off and replaced, so it's no big deal. Wacom has great customer support too, and will often send you free parts if you lose or break something! The mouse is the weakest item of this package; it does not slide around well at all- but if you are buying a tablet, why would you be using the mouse anyway... I think mine is still in the box even though I got my first one of these over 4 years ago.
There's really not much else to say... it works even better then you would really imagine, and is just an amazingly well made, durable, professional level product. |

| A great price for a great product. I use this for anything Adobe-related and also for my 3D animation classes. It's very sensitive and accurate. It's mouse is also very accurate, and doesn't shake the pointer when you make tiny movements like a ball or wireless optic mouse would. The mouse is also wireless and takes no batteries! Works just like the Stylus. The stylus is great too, it has two buttons on the side and an eraser-like edge at the back that is actually used as an eraser in most supported software (like Adobe Photoshop). The Stylus also comes with a few exchangeable writing ends and an elegant cradle.
The tablet itself is great. Depending on how you work, the size is relatively sufficient. It has two sets of buttons on each side for righty and lefty people. Both sets of buttons could be mapped exactly the same, so each right-set button would do the same action as it's equal left-set button, OR you could remap every single button differently, which is great and helps you avoid using the keyboard for shortcuts.
Hope this helps. Don't miss out on this great deal, you won't regret it. |

| Im very happy with my Tablet, there is only one thing i can think of that i could say about ease of use is the mouse. It could be sticking to move or slide on the tablet. I put some tefline slider on the bottom of the mouse. Works GREAT!!
